Documentary Video Production
There are few better ways to tell a story than with a documentary – the history of a brand, a company or organization, or a person. A documentary adds context, a sense of where an enterprise, product, or team exists within the framework of history. It evokes emotion.
Roach Projects has produced two feature-length documentaries. We’ve also created many
mini-documentaries that use documentary-style interviews, the use of archive images, and cinematic b-roll with creative framing and pacing.​
A Road At Night
A Road At Night chronicles the journey of former UW player and coach Howard Moore and his family, who were involved in a tragic head-on collision with a drunk driver. The film explores the unbreakable bonds of teammates and the resilience that emerges in the face of tragedy.
The film won the Audience Choice Award at the Wisconsin Film Festival, with additional screenings at the Driftless Film Festival, the Julien Dubuque Film Festival, the Beloit International Film Festival, and at Marcus Theatres locations in Madison and Brookfield, Wisconsin, in early 2026. Television distribution is planned for summer 2026.
Too Short Too Slow
Too Short Too Slow: America’s Most Unlikely Basketball Dynasty reunites teammates who came to rural University of Wisconsin-Platteville to play college basketball without scholarships. In just a decade, the Pioneers became a dominating force, winning four Division III national championships under Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Coach Bo Ryan. This is the story about the young men whose dedication led them to success and the community who supported them along the way.
The film debuted at the Avalon Cinema in Platteville in November 2025 and aired on WMLW in Milwaukee in March 2026.
